Tailgating Lists

Tailgating adds fun to any football game. Gather your friends, food, a few games and have fun waiting for the big game to begin.

Do you pack the same things every week for the game picnic? Gather the things you will need for your tailgating adventure using this list:

Tickets to the game

Food

Utensils

Paper plates, cups, napkins

Serving dishes

Table and Tablecloth

iPod

Add your favorite items to this list. Print the list this week to help you pack. Next week, you can print it again - and the week after that.

Tailgating Games and Music

Add your favorite tunes to your Ipod - be sure to add your team's fight song! Add speakers for the enjoyment of your tailgating friends. This is a great time to listen to the favorite songs of your own era - hits of the 70's, the 80's, the 90's.

Games are plentiful - the most popular in our part of the US, the southeast, is bean bag toss. Other parts of the USA enjoy Bocci Ball! A deck of cards is always welcome and takes up little space when packing.

Be sure to have plenty of seating for visitors, too. Many fans entertain themselves before the game by visiting friends in their tailgate sites. Hoist a flag for easy identification!

Cheese Ball for Tailgate Parties

2 eight oz pkgs cream cheese
1 seven oz can crushed pineapple - drained
1/4 bell pepper
1 Tablespoon onion, chopped very fine
1 Tablespoon seasoned salt
1 Cup Pecans, finely chopped

Combine all ingredients and shape into a ball. Roll in additional pecans. Chill in refrigerator overnight!

Note: Sometimes I make two small cheeseballs instead of the one large one. This allows for easier serving to a large group.

Don't forget to pack a little spreading knife for each one!

We enjoy tailgating at Clemson Tiger football games so I like to read about new ideas.

I've spent many a Sunday tailgaiting before Vikings games. It is huge in Minnesota. Great cheeseball recipe!

Sandy, that cheeseball is wonderful -- and it is so pretty at Christmastime too. One of my favorites. And it's a bit unusual, so folks always try it.

Yes, tailgating is a huge picnic in the parking lot before a big football game. Thousands and thousands of people are picnicking at the same time -- tables and chairs and coolers and bbq's are pulled out of cars, vans and trucks and for hours and hours - up to 5 or 6 hours before a big game, the party goes on!

Thank you for your comment and your question!
