Choosing a Camera for Your Child
- When choosing a child's camera, you will want to be sure it is Durable - read details before purchase. You do not want a camera that will break easily. And we all know children will drop cameras.
- Easy to Operate - A child's camera should be relatively simple. Again read the details about the cameras you are considering. Reviews should tell you if the camera is easy to operate.
- Age Appropriate - Preteens will be excited by a long list of features and will work diligently to learn to use every single button. Do not confuse a young child with too many features.
- Keep it simple. Your child will enjoy this new hobby for the rest of his/her life.
- Read all the reviews on Amazon for each camera. Moms and Dads and Grandparents know best of all!
Why Should Your Child Have a Camera?
Owning a camera is not just fun for your child, it is an education!
1. Encourage your child to take photographs of nature - flowers, trees, insects. If his camera has a zoom feature, he will get some really interesting photographs for reports at school.
2. Allow him to take photographs of family members and pets. Show her how to create a pet scrapbook and a family scrapbook and a nature scrapbook.
3. Learning with a camera is a lifetime adventure. Owning a suitable camera as a child introduces a lifetime hobby.

Would you consider buying a camera for your child?
A camera for a child is a wonderful idea. Both of my sons have a good "eye" for composition and earned awards with their photography. One earned Best of Show at the county fair, which is a great place for kids to compete. Great subject!

Learning camera skills early is a life long skill! Great idea for a Hub Page!
I remember my first camera. I bought it with my own money. A cheap plastic camera that took great pictures.

Yes, if my child was interested in a camera, I would make sure he had one. As a matter of fact, my boys had one of those 'pretend' Fisher-Price (?) cameras when they were little. Nowadays, because you don't have to print pictures to see the result, a 'real' camera is possible.
